U-6 Increase


The broadest measure of unemployment, termed U-6, increased to 17.1%. This includes those employed part-time who wish to work full time.

Given the number of people who have dropped out of the workforce, I would estimate that U-6 is much higher.

It will be interesting to read Alan Abelson's analysis on the jobs report in the Sat. morning edition of Barron's.
