This debate on defense spending, aired yesterday on the Diane Rehm Show, provided some good perspectives of an important issue:
It will be interesting to observe the level of defense cuts in future years. I know that defense contractors already seem to be preparing for cuts as the war in Iraq winds down. BAE, a major defense contractor, has a large presence in Nashua, NH, my current home. For many years, folks have been riding high on year after year of defense budge increases. Cuts will most certainly change things in Nashua.
