Front Page WSJ Digital - Agriculture Woes Hit Commodity Markets

This is an extremely well written article on the world food supply situation, which just now appeared as the lead article for the Digital WSJ (click on the link):

Kilman, Scott, Pleven, Liam, 2011. Prices soar on crop woes. The Wall Street Journal, 13.

For some time, the MIT Field Intelligence Lab and MIT Auto-ID Lab have held the view expressed below.

"The strain on the world's food system is making policy makers nervous. The World Economic Forum cited rising demand for water, food and energy as a risk facing the world, in a separate report released Wednesday."

We see interdisciplinary research in agriculture, water, and energy as the next frontier.

I will have more to write on the above article soon. This is a big story!
