Important Information Relating to Japanese Agriculture

I see this as an extremely important development for those interested in US agricultural exports:

"In the interview in his office, a calm but engaged Mr. Kan touched upon a variety of subjects, including Japan's sensitive relations with China, what he sees as improving ties with the U.S., and his hopes for forcing Japan's entrenched agriculture lobby to accept Japan's participation in negotiations for a multilateral free-trade-pact initiative." bold added

Hayashi Yuka and Dawson Chester, 2010. Japan cool to u.s. proposal on trade-surplus targets. The Wall Street Journal, Nov. 6.

Changing quotas and tariffs on US agricultural exports to Japan would be a boost across the board for American farmers.
