Cotton & Sugar


More news about strong commodity prices.

"In response, cotton futures in the U.S. have skyrocketed, settling at $1.4223 a pound on Friday. Prices have surged 84% since early July. Sugar futures have rushed to levels north of 30 cents a pound, the highest price since the early 1980s. Meanwhile, prices of other agricultural commodities that don't have India at their nexus, such as wheat and cocoa, have slumped, although they remain at relatively high levels.
