I have begun reading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
The novel is based on the childhood experiences of the author in Concord, MA. When I worked with Welch's, the office was not far from Alcott's childhood home.
The first chapter of the book is extremely well written. I am through about 50 pages. I like the writing very much. It defines the American style.
I was surprised to learn from a colleague that the book was the basis of a cartoon series in S. Korea.
The stories that Alcott writes remind me in some ways of my own childhood. Although I had no brothers or sisters, I can imagine the same things happening.
Maybe the book reminds many Americans and folks from other countries about their childhood.
